Colleen holds a Bachelor of Science in history from Jacksonville University, a Master of Arts in history from the University of Memphis, and a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. She also earned a graduate certificate in archives and special collections.

Colleen focuses on the neighborhood study, creating residential histories as well as training and mentoring the other members of the team. She is also a member of the education team, which assists users of the Neighborhood Atlas website, creates instructional videos and documents for the use of the ADI, and works cross-disciplinarily to train scholars and the public in the use of data assessing health disparities.

Throughout Colleen’s career, she has delved into archival records and performed historical research. Her expertise ranges from ancient history to early U.S. history and provides her with knowledge and experience working with a variety of sources useful in the creation of residential histories. Previously, she was an archivist in Ebling Library (SMPH).
