Dr. Andrea Gilmore Bykovskyi, Ph.D., RN is the Associate Vice Chair for Research and Associate Professor with Tenure in the University of Wisconsin-Madison BerbeeWalsh Department of Emergency Medicine and founding Deputy Director for the Center for Health Disparities Research (CHDR). She also holds affiliations in the Department of Medicine Division of Geriatrics, the UW-Madison College of Engineering Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISyE), and the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC), where she serves as the Informatics Lead, ADRC Care Core.

Dr. Gilmore Bykovskyi leads an interdisciplinary research program that operates at the intersections of care delivery, equity, and ethics. Her work employs a range of methodologies, health informatics, and data sources to improve identification of Alzheimers Disease and related dementias through EHR data screening; promote access to effective dementia-specific therapies; enhance delivery of individualized care to optimize patient and caregiver-centered outcomes; and target high-risk points in the care continuum, such as hospitalization and transitions in care.

Her commitment to transforming the landscape of dementia care and research centers the experience of high-risk, disadvantaged groups and works toward the shared ethical and scientific imperative of strengthening inclusion of racially and ethnically diverse populations, promoting greater participation in clinical research, improving the quality of care, expanding access to effective care and therapies, and reducing health disparities.
